Calcium Permanganate, Ca(MnO4)2.5H2O
Calcium Permanganate, Ca(MnO4)2.5H2O, is obtained by the action of sodium permanganate on calcium chloride, forming a deliquescent crystalline mass. It is decomposed by heat, giving manganate, manganese dioxide, and oxygen, and is a powerful oxidising agent.
